The Five-Minute Desk Reset
A short sequence you can run between meetings. No equipment, no changing clothes, no excuses.
Most of us don't need a complicated program. We need a reason to stand up and a few things to do once we're there. This is that.
The sequence
- 01Stand and reach both arms overhead. Breathe out slowly. Three times.
- 02Hands on the desk, step back, let the chest drop between the arms. Hold for five breaths.
- 03Slow neck circles. Half circles only, chin to chest, ear to shoulder.
- 04Hip hinge: soft knees, push the hips back, feel the backs of the legs. Ten slow reps.
- 05Wrist circles and finger spreads while you wait for the kettle.
Why it works
None of this is about intensity. It's about interrupting a long stretch of stillness with movement your body already knows how to do. Repeat it a few times a day and the effect compounds.
